Come along on this cross-country Parks on the Air journey — behind the scenes, travel details, and the stuff that doesn’t make the videos: https://patreon.com/hamradiolaunchpad
Branson has a giant chicken, a fake King Kong, and half of the Titanic sticking out of a building. We went and looked. Then we drove ten minutes down the road to a lake almost nobody mentions, and got Missouri on the air for the first time.
This leg was nothing but firsts — our first night on a working farm, our first night completely off-grid with no hookups, and the first Illinois park I’ve ever activated. That last one sits on bluffs above a river we’ve been driving toward for two weeks.
Parks on the Road is a year on the road in an RV, activating parks in every state along the way for Parks on the Air. New episodes every other week as we go.
